Government/Civics Websites (Grades 6-12)

Annenberg Classroom - This website connects our award-winning, comprehensive curriculum on the Constitution and its amendments to daily civics news and student discussion.

Bill of Rights Institute - The mission of the Bill of Rights Institute is to educate young people about the words and ideas of America’s Founders, the liberties guaranteed in our Founding documents, and how our Founding principles continue to affect and shape a free society. It is the goal of the Institute to help the next generation understand the freedom and opportunity the Constitution offers.

Budget Hero Game - Budget Hero seeks to provide a values- and fiscal-based lens for citizens to examine policy debates during this election year.  Partisan messages tend to cloud the real issues at play during campaigns, and most candidates are loath to attach detailed financial impacts to solutions which make up their platform.  Budget Hero provides an interactive experience involving policy options that have been extensively researched and vetted with non-partisan government and think tank experts to enable players to objectively evaluate candidates.

Constitutional Rights Foundation - This interactive site caters to teachers, students, and others interested in unbiased information and lessons on U.S. immigration.

E-Congress - E-Congress is a simulation of the law-making process in the United States Congress.

Garbage Dreams - Garbage Dreams is a game that simulates the life of the Zaballeen people of Cairo.  Students will sort garbage into various recycling categories to earn money.  They then can use that money to increase the amount of waste they recycle and consequently the amount of money they make.  The game teaches students about recycling and the environmental impact of waste.

Junior Achievement - Empowers young people to own their economic success. - is the official kids' portal for the U.S. government. We link kids, parents and teachers to U.S. government information and services on the web from government agencies, schools, and educational organizations, all geared to the learning level and interest of kids.
Presidential Classroom - A resource for students and teachers providing insight into historic and current events through teachable exhibits and lesson plans. It creates a unique interactive web experience that will teach students about the U.S. presidency and government.  Presidential Classroom aims to bring history alive for all users.
